Taking Your Measurements

Taking your own measurements for a suit hire is a very simple process.
The following explains how you can do this yourself.

The measurements you will need include:

• Kneck
• Chest
• Outside Sleave
• Waist
• Outside Leg

What You Will Need

1. 1. A sewing tape (a ruler will NOT do)
   
2. 2. A plain business shirt or fine t-shirt
   
3. 3. A pair of dress trousers/pants that fit (not Jeans)
   
4. 4. A pen and paper to take your measurements
   
5. 5. Somone to help you
   

Kneck Measurement

1. 1. Have somone take a sewing tape and wrap it around you kneck.
   
   
2. 2. Bring the tape down to just above your shoulders (the thickest part of your kneck).
   
   
3. 3. Allow one finger space between the tape and the kneck for comfort.
   
   
4. 4. Take note of the measurement in CM.
   
   

Chest Measurement

1. 1. Wearing a business shirt, have somone wrap the tape around your chest.
   
   
2. 2. Bring the tape to the nipples.
   
   
3. 3. Take note of the measurement in CM.
   
   
4. 4. if you have a suit that fits allready, check the pockets as the size may be on a tag in there.
   
   

Outside Sleeve Measurement

1. 1. Wearing a business shirt, have somone measure from the shoulder seam down to where your wrist intersects your hand.
   
   
2. 2. Ensure the tape runs along the outside of the sleeve along the elbow.
   
   
3. 3. Take note of the measurement in CM.
   
   

Waist Measurement

1. 1. Wearing a dress trouser, have somone wrap the tape around your waist.
   
   
2. 2. Ensure the tape runs along the outside of the waistband of the trouser.
   
   
3. 3. Deduct three CM.
   
   
4. 3. Take note of the measurement in CM.
   
   

Outside Leg Measurement

1. 1. Lay your dress trouser flat on a bench or table.
   
   
2. 2. Run the tape along the outside seam of the trouser from the top of waistband to the bottom of the hem.
   
   
3. 3. Ensure the tape is fully extended and there are no folds or creases in the trouser.
   
   
4. 3. Take note of the measurement in CM.
